This week in content we look at LinkedIn’s fastest growing business ever, how voice search could affect SEO, and a story about a British chef who is owning content marketing.

Nearly half of LinkedIn’s traffic now comes from mobile devices, driving the company to change its advertising strategy. Their solution is Sponsored Updates: mobile-friendly, in-stream ads that are currently generating a sizable chunk of revenue ($33.8 million in Q3). CEO Jeff Weiner confirmed that sponsored content is the fasted growing business in LinkedIn’s history.

Voice Search Makes Keywords Even Less Relevant
Recent updates in search engine algorithms further reduced the importance of keywords, but how will the growing trend of voice-based searches affect SEO? Voice searches, which 40% of adults and 55% of teenagers now use, will continue to diminish the significance of keywords, increase the importance of semantic search, and add the factor of imminent user needs to SEO.
